SFR in partnership with the amplify change coalition members joined the world in celebrating the dedication, passion, and impact of women who are driving positive change in our communities globally, the event was celebrated in Gatsibo District-Eastern Province of Rwanda on the “Theme: 30Years: Women in the Country Development”. There resilience and achievements inspire us all to struggle for a more inclusive and equitable world and indeed SFR has always acknowledged and honored the contributions, achievements, and advancements made by women in all aspects of life.
The objective of the celebrations was to empower women through a holistic initiative fostering
recognition, collaboration, and awareness to accelerate gender equality. Women from across the District, showcased activities and achievements of women-led organizations and entrepreneurs across diverse settings within the district.
The Day also included showcasing women empowering narratives, educational resources, and interactive events, focusing on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) messages, to raise awareness, challenge gender bias, and promote gender parity. The event was attended by a total of 15000 attendees who the majority were females.
